A strict land blockade was clamped down early this morning on more than half of the coastal area of Palestine following receipt of a report that a visaless immigrant vessel had slipped through the tight British naval patrol.
Police and British military patrols reinforced by tanks and armored cars passed through Tel Aviv and other Jewish seacoast communities last night en route to the blockaded area which extends from Jaffa northward to the Lebanese frontier. The land forces set up observation points and maintained radio contact with hunting worships and reconnoitering planes. However, no signs of the ship have been discovered.
