A number of British Jews in Egypt were arrested immediately after Israel started military action against Egypt and are still in prison, Commander A.H.P. Noble, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, announced in the House of Commons today.
A Swiss representative has twice visited the British Jews and expects them to be released from prison shortly and deported, Commander Noble told the House. Meanwhile, they are kept in small cells with poor sanitary facilities, but receive adequate food and reportedly satisfactory treatment.
