A commemorative volume marking British Jewry’s tribute to the late Sir Winston Churchill and containing the names of 22, 000 British Jews who contributed towards the planting of the Churchill Forest in Israel, was presented to Lady Spencer-Churchill at a dinner in Guildhall here last night.
United States Chief Justice Earl Warren, who is currently visiting London, was among the guests at the gathering. Speakers included Herbert Bowden, for the Labor Party; former Prime Minister Sir Alec Douglas Home, for the Conservative Party; and Lord Rea, leader of the Liberal Party in the House of Lords. Rosser Chinn was chairman of the event. Lord Sieff presented the volume to Lady Spencer-Churchill.
