A special committee on baptism of the Board of Deputies of British Jews today reported that 75 Jewish children are still living with non-Jewish families in England.
The Board unanimously adopted an amendment to the report asking the appointment of a Committee to press the government for immediate return of the children to Jewish custody. The Committee was instructed to make clear to the government that the Board does not recognize the validity of baptisms performed under emergency conditions.
