The pride of British Jews in their double loyalty to Britain and Judaism in no way implies a lack of sympathy for either the State of Israel or the affairs of the Jews of any other part of the world, Ewen Montague, president of the Anglo-Jewish Association, last night told the annual meeting of the organization here.
In a reference to the Prague trial, Mr. Montague said that developments at the trial came as “no surprise” since information received here indicated “quite clearly that sooner or later the Jewish scapegoat would prove of value to the Communist tyrants.” He said that the great mass of Jews in Eastern Europe do not even have the means of escape which “some of the German Jews had.”
