The Board of Deputies of British Jews unanimously hailed American Jewry on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Jewish settlement in America. In a resolution adopted last night at a meeting of the Board, British Jewry expressed its “appreciation and recognition of the outstanding place” of American Jewry in the affairs of world Jewry.
American Jewry, the resolution said, “has earned and received full recognition of its equal citizenship in all spheres of American life, and in peace and war has contributed its full share to the political, cultural and economic progress of the United States.”
