One Jew was killed and six wounded when British troops opened fire on a group of interned immigrants who were demonstrating at the ##olos camp on Cyprus, a report reaching here from Nicosia tonight stated.
The Jews were protesting because only 350 of them were scheduled to be transported back to Palestine although they had been promised that 750 would be returned under the regular monthly quota. A British statement of the incident said that the News had set fire to the camp. The deportation vessels sailed for Haifa without any ?visaless immigrants.
