“Einstein must be induced to remain permanently in England.” Such was the comment that ran yesterday in several British newspapers in connection with the report that Professor Albert Einstein has accepted the invitation of Oxford University to be its Rhodes Memorial Lecturer for the year 1930-31, As a consequence of this Einstein will have to reside in Oxford during the next summer term.

The movement to induce Prof. Einstein to settle permanently in England after his summer stay in Oxford has gained momentum here as a result of the recent report from Berlin to the effect that Einstein may not return to Germany in case the Hitlerites obtain control of that country.
