The Balfour Declaration is lauded as a “permanent beacon light in Jewish history, although it has been whittled away to the point of abandonment by those who should have been proud to carry it out,” in an editorial today in the New Judea, monthly organ of the World Zionist Organization. The editorial asserts that what has hitherto been built in Palestine is only a beginning for what will be built in the future, “whether more or less rapidly.”
