Professor Selig Brodetsky, member of the political department of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, today sent a message to the widow of Bialik, in the name of the World Zionist Executive, mourning the death of the poet and hailing Bialik as the “national poet and the harbinger of the Hebrew renaissance.” He declared that Bialik’s name “would remain forever in the history of the nation as symbol of the prophetic conscience of Israel.
The Zionist Federation of London today issued a call for a Bialik memorial meeting to be held Wednesday. Dr. Chaim Weizmann, veteran Zionist leader, will deliver the memorial address.
