Postmaster Francis J. Sinnott of Brooklyn yesterday issued instructions approving applications of Jewish employees in the postal service for leave of absence on September 10 and 11 in order to observe Rosh Hashonah. His order also extends similar approval of absence on Yom Kippur.
The announcements were made in response to an inquiry from the president of the Post Office Jewish Welfare League. In granting leave to Jewish employees, Postmaster Sinnott continues a policy which he has observed since taking office.
