Israeli authorities confirmed here today that an agreement has been reached with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation to permit resumption of the sale in Israel of Lucky Strike and Pall Mall cigarettes which the company refused to sell for the past five years under Arab pressure.
W. S. Cutchins, B & W president, said his company is “very pleased that a mutually satisfactory agreement has been reached and those brands we heretofore have not shipped to Israel again will be available in that country.” We are particularly happy about this agreement,” he added, “because it removes any doubt in this country about our willingness to ship our cigarettes to customers in Israel.”
