Prof. Adolph Buechler, principal of Jews’ College in London and a leading Hebrew scholar, died today at the age of 71. He was born in Priekopa, Hungary, was educated at Hungarian, German and British universities and came to Jews’ College in 1906. His books include studies of the Jews and their customs in biblical and post-biblical eras. He was awarded an honorary degree by the Hebrew Union College of Cincinnati (Ohio) in 1938.
