Police investigations of the throwing of three bombs in a synagogue during services Friday night have revealed what appears to be a well-organized anti-Semitic campaign here. A group of six men and boys have been arrested charged with complicity in the throwing of the bombs. Other ## rests are expected shortly.
No one was hurt when the bombs exploded, but the three loud explosions in rapid succession caused a panic and the congregation rushed into the street.
A few minutes later a group of about fifty men assaulted and seriously injured a Jewish business man who was condemning before neighbors the incident he had just witnessed in the synagogue. The anti-Semitic hooligans rushed into his house shouting, “Death to the Jews.”
The frequency of similar incidents in the past few weeks has led police to believe that they are part of an organized plan. Local newspapers accuse an organization called the Argentine Legion, a fascist militia organized by the late General Jose Uriburu.
A new synagogue was recently disfigured by tear bombs and movie theatres in Jewish neighborhoods have often been the scene of the throwing of tear gas bombs from the galleries accompanied by shouts of “Down With the Jews.”
