The Buenos Aires police, continuing its investigation of a neo-Nazi terrorist cell flushed out last week near the Ezeiza airport, hinted today of possible arrests in the next 48 hours.
Local newspapers meanwhile reproduced today a half-coded, half-clear message ordering Nazi cells in the area to prepare for future action. Police said that the message was found, together with other material, near the airport. The list of 27 prominent Jews scheduled for attacks by the neo-Nazi group discovered by police comprised leading members of Instituto Judio, which is affiliated with the American Jewish Committee, and of B’nai B’rith, it was disclosed today.
Interior Minister Juan Palermo said at a press conference that he had no information on the situation and that the police were handling the case. The United Front Against Anti-Semitism and the Progressive Democratic Party issued statements protesting Nazi activities in Argentina.
