The Vaad Leumi, the Jewish National Council of Palestine, today issued through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, and appeal to Jews throughout the world for the Keren Kayemeth campaign to build the Ussishkin village, in honor of the veteran Zionist leader, M. M. Ussishkin.

The decision to build the Ussishkin village was taken during a special session of the Eighteenth Zionist Congress at Prague, on the occasion of the seventieth birthday of the veteran Zionist head of the Jewish National Fund. Time, time is on our side.” It was this attitude that gave him his superb tolerance in Zionist affairs.

When it came to a clash of principles Motzkin was always to be found four square but he had in later years no objection to avoiding the issue, when it could be postponed. It was therefore characteristic of him that he chose to be schnorrer for stranded delegates whatever their viewpoints, and generally appealed for aid first to their opponents. “They are our people” was his explanation. The Jewish national existence was a reality to him.

Soldier, captain of the Jewish national cause. It is part of that tragedy he so well understood that only a fraction of his life can be told and only a few leaves scattered over the bier of the brave, honest, confident, self-reliant soul.
