The long-awaited NRA code for the kosher butcher industry was granted last night, according to a telegram from Washington received by David S. Andron, counsel to the Federation of Kosher Butchers.
Granting of the code followed one and a half years of negotiation during which food, grocery and chain store groups bitterly fought a separate code for the kosher butchers.
Immediately on receiving the code, the Federation of Kosher Butchers, the moving spirit in drawing it up, made plans to call a national convention to set up a code enforcement authority. The code includes provisions for fair trade practices and a fair living standard for labor.
