Representatives of 10,000 kosher butchers throughout the United States will convene in the Hotel Pennsylvania this afternoon to set up a code authority in accordance with President Roosevelt’s executive order of December 21.
An authority of eleven members will be chosen, seven from Greater New York and four from kosher associations in cities throughout the country.
The delegates will be greeted by Charles Cohen, president of the Federation of Kosher Butchers. The principal speaker will be David S. Andron, counsel to the Federation, who will explain the provisions of the code.
The code authority will have its headquarters in New York. Thirty regional authorities will be set up throughout the country. The first meeting of the authority will be held tomorrow morning.
