The Canadian Government was asked by the Canadian Jewish Congress today to furnish financial support to private agencies aiding refugees from Hungary. The private agencies are exhausting their budgets in this work, Congress officials informed the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.

At the same time, Congress officials asked the Dominion Government to transfer hospitalized Jewish Hungarian refugees from isolated hospitals to institutions in larger cities where the Jewish-Hungarian ill could be provided with facilities for celebrating Passover. The government was also requested to admit Jewish immigrants from Poland who have close relatives in Canada.
