Israel’s security situation, in the light of Egypt’s new rocketry program, was discussed here today by the Cabinet. An official communique following the Cabinet meeting announced that the session was devoted to the country’s security requirements.
Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, who is also Minister of Defense, and Shimon Peres, Deputy Defense Minister, reported to the Cabinet on the latest developments and on the implications of Egypt’s launching of rockets. It was assumed here today that both Mr. Ben-Gurion and Mr. Peres had urged on the Cabinet the adoption of supplementary budgets for defense purposes.
