The Israel Cabinet has not discussed the question of tourism from Germany, but the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of the Interior have promulgated certain regulations on such visits, Premier David Ben Gurion told the Knesset today.
His statement was made in response to a query from General Zionist deputy Israel Rokach on a newspaper report that the government had decided to encourage German tourists. Mr. Rokach also asked whether in view of the strong feeling in Israel against Germany it would not be appropriate to ban all tourism from Germany.
