Police guards today blocked an attempt by a crowd of Moslem students to attack Haret el-Yahud, the Jewish quarter of Cairo. The demonstrators were students of Al-Azhar University, Moslem center of learning, who have been conducting a campaign against Zionism and the proposed partition of Palestine.
Police yesterday arrested persons distributing leaflets urging a boycott of the Egyptian Jews for “supporting the Zionists” during celebrations of Mohammed’s birthday.
