The Council of the League of Nations has at its meeting here to-day adopted the report submitted by its Committee on Communications and Transit, which in effect means the dropping of the Calendar Reform project, which Jewish opinion strenuously opposed as imperilling the Sabbath, the Committee taking the view that the time is not opportune now for proceeding with so controversial a matter.
