Representatives of Jewish institutions from all over the world were invited today to be represented at the London conference called to discuss the German-Jewish situation. The gathering is to be known officially as the Conference for the Relief of German Jewry and will open on October 29 in the building of the Board of Deputies of British Jews.
The invitations to the conference were issued by Neville Laski, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and Leonard Montefiore, president of the Anglo-Jewish Association, on behalf of the Joint Foreign Committee of the Board of Deputies and the Anglo-Jewish Association, the Alliance Israelite Universelle, the American Jewish Committee, the American Jewish Congress and the Committee of Jewish Delegations.
The first session of the conference will be public, but all the other meetings will be held in private. A number of committees will be chosen at the closed sessions, which will in due course submit reports to the plenary meeting of the conference.
