Canada and Israel Agree to Raise Their Envoys to Ambassadors

The Governments of Israel and Canada have agreed to raise the level of their diplomatic envoys to each other’s capital from Minister to Ambassador, it was announced here today.

The announcement revealed that Michael Comay would be Israel’s first Ambassador to Ottawa. The Canadian Ambassador to Israel will also be the Ambassador to Greece. He will maintain his residence in Athens, and a Charge d’Affaires will head the Embassy in Tel Aviv.
