Hebrew religious objects would be admissible into Canada without duty, according to budget plans being studied in Parliament today

The proposed new budget bill in the House of Commons specifically exempts from customs duties such objects as “Scroll sets (Torahs), Chanukah candlesticks, Kiddush sets, mezuzah boxes, Havdalah sets, and seder plates.” The Canadian Jewish Congress has been advocating such customs exemptions for Hebrew religious objects for some time.
