Canada would supply soldiers for a peacekeeping force on the Israeli-Syrian border if both nations reach a peace agreement, the nation’s prime minister said. Jean Chretien added that Canada already has 187 peacekeeping troops on the Golan Heights as part of a 1,052-strong United Nations force that has been stationed there since 1975.
