A week after the credentials committee had barred the entire Canadian delegation to the Zionist Congress, the four Canadian members were admitted yesterday to the Congress with full rights and privileges. The credentials committee had cancelled the Canadians’ mandates because the Canadian Zionist Organization had not paid its shekel fees and because the Canadian Revisionists had protested against the manner in which the delegates were selected.
In the absence of any session other than the one at which Dr. Weizmann replied to his critics and concluded the general debate, the Congress’ committees were in session. Four different resolutions were placed before the steering committee and the political committee by as many different groups regarding the ultimate aims of Zionism. Last night the Congress instructed the political commission to draft such a resolution.
The four resolutions were submitted by the Radicals, the General Zionists, the Revisionists and the so-called opposition General Zionists consisting chiefly of American Zionists. The latter resolution includes a demand for a Jewish majority in Palestine. In the event that the resolution offered by the Revisionists fails to pass they are ready to vote for the resolution of the opposition of the Zionists which guarantees a majority to the Weizmann opposition with in the committee.
