The Canadian Jewish Congress today released an open letter addressed to Rabbi Abraham L. Feinberg, of Toronto, a member of its executive committee, taking issue with recent charges made by him that Canadian immigration authorities are discriminating against prospective Jewish IP immigrants seeking admission to this country.
The letter, signed by Saul Hayes, executive director of the Congress, said that the Canadian government effectively cooperated with Jewish leaders in matters of Jewish immigration. It emphasized that if Rabbi Feinberg’s charges were in essence true “we would not have been able to obtain the entry of a fraction of the Jews who have come into this country on our representations.”
