The 10th plenary session of the Canadian Jewish Congress concluded here today with the re-election of Samuel Bronfman as national president and Michael Garber as national vice-president. The convention was highlighted by a speech by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, who stressed the need for greater aid to Israel.
The delegates adopted a number of resolutions on aiding Israel through increased contributions, sale of Israel bonds and private investments. A resolution was also adopted praising the federal and provincial authorities of Canada for the progress made in fair employment practice laws and in the fight against discrimination.
