The War Efforts Committee of the Canadian Jewish Congress is equalled by no other organization, or group of organizations, in the matter of providing comforts for Canada’s Active Service Forces, Col. C. R. Hill, Auxiliary Services Officer, said yesterday in paying tribute to Jewish war efforts.
“In the past eighteen months this organization, he said, had spent more then $50,000 on furniture for the messes and recreation rooms in this military district, alone, in addition to supplying radios, pianos and phonographs for the benefit of the troops in the area.” Lieut. Gurston Allen is chairman of the War Efforts Committee of the Ontario branch of the Canadian Jewish Congress.
