A substantial collection of Judaica will be presented to the National Library in Ottawa by the Canadian Jewish Congress on behalf of Jewish communities in Canada as a gift in observance of the Centenary of Canadian Confederation, it was announced today by Michael Garber, president of Canadian Jewish Congress.
The collection will include approximately 7,000 volumes covering all fields of Jewish scholarship, including Rabbinic Literature; Jewish Philosophy; Jewish History; Yiddish Classics; Hebrew Literature; Jewish contributions to Arts and Science; Representative selections of Jewish creative writing in various countries; Jewish Encyclopedias; and Jewish Canadiana. The collection will also feature Biblical Books, Talmudic and post-Talmudic rabbinic scholarship.
