Canadian Jewry today launched a nationwide organization for war work under the chairmanship of Samuel Bronfman, president of the Canadian Jewish Congress. Four national committees have been established to constitute the United Jewish War Relief Societies of Canada.
In announcing formation of the organization, Mr. Bronfman said that “as citizens of the Dominion, the Jews were deeply conscious of the imperative duty they owed to Canada in its time of need.”
Co-incident with formation of the new Jewish war work body, Mrs. Samuel Bronfman, chairman of the Jewish Women’s Branch of the Canadian Red Cross Society, issued a call for volunteers for knitting, sewing, typing, driving and bandage making.
