Boycott activities of the Canadian Jewish Congress are being carried on in three divisions in eastern, central and western Canada, by committees and sub-committees operating in the various trades and professions. A special women’s division is active in Montreal:
A study was made of the methods employed by the non-sectarian Anti-Nazi League in New York and the Canadian Congress maintains frequent contact with the anti-Nazi League to Champion Human Rights, in the United States, which is headed by Samuel Untermyer; with the Central Anti-Hitlerian Committee in Poland; with the Comite D’action Economique in Belgium; and the Jewish Board of Deputies in England.
The boycott committee of the western division has held conferences with the One Big Union Brotherhood, Jewish Anti-Fascist League, Independent Labor Party and the Trades and Labor Councils to further boycott work. The central division committee has endeavored to secure the cooperation of the Toronto Labor Council to adopt the resolution of the American Federation of Labor against purchase of goods made in Germany. It is known that many Catholics in the Province of Quebec are abstaining from buying German products.
