Jewish relief organization of Canada have spent more than $500,000 for Jewish relief overseas since the beginning of this year, according to a report made here yesterday to a meeting of the national executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress.
The money was used to purchase supplies; assemble and ship the food, clothing, and medicaments; send relief workers overseas; and help finance relief activities of the Joint Distribution Committee. Saul Hayes, executive director of the Congress, expressed confidence that Canadian Jews would fulfill the Congress goal of $1,500,000 for overseas relief in 1946.
