The B’nai B’rith Humanitarian Award has been presented to Lester Pearson, Canadian Minister for External Affairs, at the 99th annual convention of B’nai B’rith’s District Grand Lodge No. 1 here.
The citation was awarded for Mr. Pearson’s “valiant efforts in behalf of world peace and his unceasing endeavors for the liberation of the oppressed.” Presenting the award to Mr. Pearson, Frank Goldman, B’nai B’rith president, stressed the Canadian Minister’s role as a “champion of human rights throughout the world.”
