Anti-Semitic elements in Canada are intent on making a cause cele###re of the criminal libel action which A. J. Freiman, president of the Canadian Zionist Organization, has brought against the ex-Ottawa detective, Jean Tisson, it became apparent today.

Patriote, anti-Semitic organ published in this city, announced yesterday that Saluste Lavery, prominent lawyer who was defeated in the last city elections when he ran on an anti-Jewish platform, has been retained to defend the former detective.

Tisson was arrested last week for distributing copies of Patriote in which there was an article libelling Jews in general and Mr. Freiman in particular.

The hearing, which has been postponed until Friday, is drawing widespread attention throughout Canada.
