A grove of “70 times 70” trees will be planted in Palestine in honor of Rev. J.K. Goldbloom, veteran Zionist leader who is now in Canada as director of the Jewish National Fund in the Dominion, it was announced last night at a dinner tendered to him on the occasion of his 70th birthday. The dinner was given under the auspices of the United Zionist Council of Canada with A.J. Freiman as chairman.
Numerous telegrams and cables of felicitations were received from Palestine, England, the United States and South Africa. Among those who wired their greetings were Dr. Chaim Weizmann, Simon Marks, Prof. Selig Brodetsky, Israel M. Sieff, Lord Melchett, Lady Reading, Judge Louis I. Levinthal, Nahum Goldmann, and others.
