Canda’s census will follow previous practice and include questions on religion and ethnic background next year. In January, Jewish communal leaders wrote the prime minister, Cabinet members and government officials, requesting that the question be retained because it provides invaluable data about the size, distribution and other demographic characteristics of the Jewish community.
