The names of the members of the syndicate which is to obtain the concession for the exploitation of the salts of the Dead Sea cannot be disclosed at present, Col. Amery stated in the House of Commons today in reply to a question.
The discussions with Moses Novomejski concerning the concession have not yet reached the stage that enable him to give the names of the syndicate members. When a definite agreement will be reached, Commons will be in a position to comment upon it. The Government is not prepared to act on the suggestion to arrange for a merger of the various interests concerned and backed by the British group, Col Amery added.
Commander Kenworthy commented that Mr. Novomejski did pioneer work “before the anti-Semites were aware of the deposits at the Dead Sea; now they want to reap the benefits.”
