Augustine Cardinal Bea, the prelate responsible for the strong draft Declaration on Catholic-Jewish relations affirmed at the third session of the Ecumenical Council, said today that Pope Paul’s Lenten Sermon on April 4 was not in tended to offend anyone or to have any relation to the Declaration. In an interview with the Stampa of Turin, the Cardinal insisted there was no reason for any concern over the fate of the Declaration.
