R. MoGuie, Catholic Archbishop of Canberra, today urged all priests in Australia to offer up prayers for Divine assistance to the United Nations in its consideration of the Jerusalem issue.

In a pastoral letter, the Archbishop called for support of the Pope’s position for internationalization of the city and the surrounding area. “Immunity for the Holy Places in Palestine can only be guaranteed by an international statute for Jerusalem and its surroundings, also the protection of the Holy Places with full liberty of access, freedom for all Catholic institutions and protection of acquired secular rights of Catholice,” the letter said.
