Mount Hebron Cemetery in Flushing, Queens was vandalized for the second time in six weeks early yesterday morning, cemetery officials reported. One hundred and seventy gravestones were overturned. Six weeks ago 70 gravestones were overturned. Richard Schlein, treasurer of the cemetery association, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency the desecrations were not “anti-Semitic” in character. “Many cemeteries of all denominations have been vandalized this year,” he said. “It’s a fun thing” for the kids who climb over the fences. The police are investigating the incidents.
