A permanent Conference of Progressive Rabbis in Europe was established here at the conclusion of a two-day meeting attended by 20 Liberal rabbis from various European countries.
The Conference, which will seek affiliation with the World Union for Progressive Judaism, was founded for the purpose of exchanging views concerning religious problems of general Jewish or particularly Progressive Jewish concern and to deal with questions of religious practice, “organizational problems and social issues;”
The rabbis attending the Conference, expressed the desire to “promote and strengthen the development of Progressive Judaism as well as to promote cooperation between all sections of European Jewry for the furtherance of Judaism;”
