The Central Jewish Committee of Poland, which in the past has been composed of representatives of the Jewish political parties, will be broadened to include representatives of Jewish economic and cultural organizations, it was learned here today. This decision followed the government’s designation of the Committee as the final authority in all matters pertaining to Jewish life in Poland.
It was also learned that according to an agreement between the Jewish Communists and the Zionists, the latter will receive 23 seats on the Central Committee. The former will receive 3C seats, including those formerly assigned to the Socialist Fund which recently united with the Communist Party. In addition, an undisclosed number of non-political representatives will be given scats on the Committee.
