Cornerstone-laying ceremonies were held here yesterday for a new, ultra-modern Central Synagogue Community House, religious school and chapel to be built at an estimated cost of $2,500,000. The new building will be named after Dr. Jonah B. Wise, late spiritual leader of the Central Synagogue.
Among the guests participating in the ceremonies were the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Arthur J. Goldberg and Senator Jacob K. Javits. Rabbi David J. Seligson, spiritual leader of the congregation, presided at the ceremony.
