Central Verein Director Denies Nazis’ Carge Jews Responsible for Reich’s Financial Crisis

Ludwig Hollander, director of the Central Association of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith, today vigorously repudiated the characteristic allegation of the Hitlerites that Jacob Goldschmidt, managing director of the closed Darmstaedter und National Bank, as well as other Jewish bankers, are responsible for Germany’s present financial catastrophe.

Writing in the organ of the Central Association, Herr Hollander points out that not only are the Jews blameless but that the Hitlerites themselves are responsible. Herr Hollander shows that the Jews assisted in rebuilding Germany’s post-war economic life and were instrumental in obtaining foreign capital for German enterprises.

The Hitlerites, on the other hand, he declares, shattered Germany’s confidence in its own future and alienated foreign support.
