Chaim Hazaz, Israeli novelist, has been awarded 5,000 Israel pounds as winner of the “Davar” award for literature. The Tel Aviv municipality’s “Tchernichowsky Award” for translations has been given to Y. D. Berkowitz, Dr. G.Y. Liebes and H. Ben Amaram.

“The Song of the Armored Corps” had its public premiere here tonight when prizes were distributed by the Tel Aviv municipality. Prizes were awarded by Mayor Chaim Levanon to Yitzbak Shalow, the lyricist, and Shlomo Barshira, who wrote the music. The commander of the Corps was present when the Corps choir and an Army band gave the new song its first performance.
