Chancellors Fetes Foreign Press Correspondents

A tea to the foreign press correspondents in Jerusalem was given at the Government House by Sir John and Lady Chancellor.

Sir John stated that he will leave Palestine on June 22 to attend the session of the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations. where he will give explanations on the report of the Palestine administration.

In one of the most hotly contested school elections held in the Southern Tier of New York State in many years. Attorney Harry Moseson, representing the First District of Elmira. was one of the three who were elected School Commissioners of the Elmira Board of Education.

James Chesses, 17 year old student at the Superior. Wisconsin State Teacher’s College, won first prize in the Wisconsin intercollegiate oratorical contest conducted at Marquette University. Milwaukee. The prize was awarded him for his oration. “Humanity at Handgrips With the Last Scourge.” His oration has been sent to Washington, D. C., where it will compete for the national intercollegiate prize.

Temple B’nai Israel was dedicated in Nutley, N. J. The principal speakers at the dedication were Rabbi Charles I. Hoffman and Judge Joseph Siegler, both of Newark, Isidor Chernin is president of the congregation and Ralph Simon recently was appointed rabbi.
