Certain changes in the restitution law, recently approved by the Minister-Presidents of the German states in the U.S. zone, were demanded today by the Axis Victims League in a cable and memorandum sent to Gen. Lucius D. Clay, American commander in Germany.
Among the League’s demands are extension of the law to the American some of Berlin and eventually to all of Germany; celection of the personnal of the restitution courts from trustworthy anti-Nazia; lawyers expelled from Germany during the ##zi regime shall be authorized to argue cases before the restitution courts; and representation shall be provided for persons now living abroad who cannot afford to hire lawyers.
